3 Key Activities to Survive the Coronavirus Lockdown

The world as we know it has slowed down and many business owners are suddenly finding that they are experiencing something that they have never experienced before... free time on their hands! If your business has been forced to take an unplanned holiday, I would encourage you to use this time to focus on three key things:

1) Promote your business
With millions of people around the world heeding advice to stay at home, you may think that you need to close the door on your business and that may be true in the physical sense but, guess what? As one door closes, another opens... The world has gone digital, bringing with it opportunities a-plenty. The virtual door is wide open and your business is right there for all to see. Your social media pages are your most valuable assets right now so be sure to take good care of them so that they function properly and don't depreciate too quickly, taking your business with them.

2) Review your business plan
Now is the ideal time for you to evaluate your business against your business plan to see if you are achieving the targets and objectives that have been documented. A good business plan will outline steps for future growth as this is a very important business activity. So, are you managing to grow your business or is growth hindered by a never-ending list of administrative tasks? This is a problem for many, so use this time to consider what you can do to ease the burden to enable you to take your business to the next level.

3) Enjoy the company of loved ones
Although we have been forced into isolation, the threat posed by Covid-19 has also brought us closer together. However, this situation won't last forever and our busy lives will resume once more, so embrace your family during this time and make precious memories that will never be forgotten.

As a Virtual Assistant, I can't help you with number 3 - that one is all down to you I'm afraid - but, I can help you with numbers 1 and 2 which in turn will enable you to embrace number 3. Many of you will know that one of my favourite sayings is 'growth is never by mere chance; it is the result of forces working together'. It can be hard as a business owner to learn to let go and delegate, but once you do, your business will soar. If you want to hit the road running when the lockdown lifts, it's time to start working ON your business.
