A blog is a tool that many small businesses utilise to generate more interest in their services and/or products. Unsure why blogging is so powerful? Then, read on...

If you want to appear on the first few pages of Google when somebody searches for a business like yours, a blog will make you stand out from the crowd. Search engines look out for websites that are regularly updated with fresh content. A blog, therefore, is your free ticket to higher rankings and more website hits.

If you write articles that demonstrate your knowledge and worth in your field of business, you increase the chances of your readers becoming future clients. Everybody loves a freebie and the more information you share that is helpful, the more interest you will generate. A blog provides a means of building a relationship with your readers whilst establishing yourself as an authority.

So you see, a blog can be very beneficial to small businesses. However, blogging is a commitment that not everyone can sustain. Your blog needs to be updated regularly with content that is relevant and interesting to readers (8-10 new articles per month). You should never publish an article that offers little to no value as it will be detrimental to your reputation and future success. With all that said, if you are willing to put in the time and are a good copywriter, you will reap the rewards!
